Pyramids Paper Mills (PPM) was established in 6th of October City, a new industrial area near Cairo, in 1983 as the first tissue paper manufacturer. Their current product range includes:

1. Tissue paper in Jumbo rolls
2. MG (Machine Glazed) paper in rolls
3. MG (Machine Glazed) paper in reams
4. Foam laminated products
5. Converted tissue paper such as high quality handkerchiefs, toilet rolls, kitchen towels, hygienic facial tissues, easy pack tissues and napkins.

PPM’s production in 1995 was 25,000 tons with a sales value of approximately 20.0 million US$. Besides the 6th of October Mill, PPM operates distribution centres in Alexandria and Luxor to serve about 25000 selling points. Although PPM was initially oriented towards the local market, it was the first to export tissue paper and MG paper to several countries. In 1995 PPM’s exports reached 4,700 tons, and the plan for 1996 is approximately 12,000 tons.
